SUMMER 08 NEWSLETTER

Wow, has the weather been great or what?  We are so happy that the weather has been so perfect for months and the outlook for the rest of the summer is great. Nothing is more fun than diving in 1’ seas or less.  We do get the occasional summer thunderstorm but nothing serious. So if you haven’t planned your summer dive trip to Atlantis Dive Center yet, what are you waiting for?

As I mentioned in the spring newsletter you will love all the changes at the NEW ATLANTIS DIVE CENTER, we have painted, re-decked, rebuilt engines and totally put a new face on our 4 boats and they are running fine and look great.  We didn’t stop there, we have completely rebuilt the dock and bulkheads, re-rocked the parking lot, put up new fencing around the welding shop and parking lot.  We have replaced all our dive rental gear with new top of the line TUSA gear and the grand finale, David Dunleavy the world famous mural artist completely repainted his endangered species mural on our A-Frame, highway store. You can see it all one our page but nothing is neater then standing next to the mural and seeing the beautiful perfect detail of David’s artwork.  We are so proud of his work on our building, every day dozens of people stop and take pictures of the building as they enter the keys, after all, our building is the first dive store in Key Largo, actually the second building you see after you exit our new permanent Jewfish Creek Bridge, it spans almost a mile with a middle height of 62’, it just opened last month and it is gorgeous.  Never again will you get caught by the draw bridge and have to wait ‘forever’ to get to Key Largo. So now you can’t miss our highway store and we are waiting for you.

The 4th of July weekend was wide open we had a great crew of you here and our glassbottom/snorkel boat ran every trip in the perfect weather. I did my usual 4th of July fireworks show; I am a licensed pyrotechnician and shoot the fireworks show for Key Largo each 4th of July and New Years.  And you thought feeding barracudas was dangerous!  Our lovely ‘pets’ are all awaiting your return, they have held center stage every Friday and Sunday mornings and we love ‘playing’ with them and introducing you to them, they are so sweet, our 5 nurse sharks, two big goliath groupers, Bruiser and Little Bruiser, Lightening our shining star barracuda and Sundance our grumpy moray eel.  So pick up the phone and dial 800-331-3483 and book your summer get away with us, the NEW ATLANTIS DIVE CENTER, still the best deal in diving in the world!  Watch our web page for our 30th year celebration weekend, coming this fall!
