What are today’s diving resorts looking for in a Diving Instructor?

In planning your career as a PADI Professional Diving Instructor most candidates want to know what diving operations are looking for in an Instructor.

As a major dive center in the Florida Keys, we get resumes from a lot of individuals. Let's face it, there are a lot of Open Water Scuba Instructors available for employment. What will make you unique on your resume will be extra training in what you need in a resort environment.

The following DCO program consists of training in the skills that will make you a valuable asset to any dive center. What better way to learn these skills than from a REAL Resort operation.

THE FOLLOWING COURSES ARE INCLUDED IN THE RESORT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE:

1. Resort Scuba Programs, Discover Scuba Diving and Experience Programs.

2. Sales Training with Positive Approach Selling.

3. Dive Boat Handling, Operations and Maintenance.

4. Compressor Operations and Maintenance.

5. Advanced Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining Enthusiastic Divers.

6. Resort Diving Accident Management.

7. Recompression Chamber Orientation.

8. PADI Underwater Videographer & Photographer Specialty Diver or Instructor Courses.
9. Reef Fish, Creatures and Corals Specialty Diver or Instructor Courses.

10. Dive Operations Photo Pro (Digital Photo and Camera Repair Course)

This program is conducted over a 3 week period and will prepare you for entry into the world of resort dive operations. There is no other program in the world that will give you the practical experience and training that the Capt. Slate’s Dive Center Operation course does. By the time you finish this course you will be able to walk right into another resort and know how to conduct yourself.

Prerequisites: PADI Divemaster or PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or above rating.

Certifications: Upon successful completion of these courses you will receive Specialty Diver or Instructor certifications in Underwater Videographer & Photographer, Reef Fish, Creatures and Corals, and a Dive Center Operations Management Certificate of Completion showing training in all areas.

You will also receive a Letter of Recommendation from Capt. Slate’s, Professional Scuba Instructor Resume and help with Job Placement.

By attending this program you will show potential employers that you plan to stay in the dive industry. Dive Center owners are looking for qualified, long term employees with the qualifications you will have upon completing this course. Capt.
