The PADI IE is held in Key Largo and other areas following the Instructor Development Courses. The IE is conducted by PADI Headquarters and has no affiliation with Capt. Slate’s. I
t is held at a local hotel facility & only PADI Headquarters personnel are involved. Tanks, weights are provided free of charge to all Capt. Slate’s candidates.
In order to successfully complete the PADI IE, candidates will complete the following theory exams and show the following skills.
Five part theory exam on the following topics, diving physics, physiology, skills & environment, equipment and the Recreational Dive Planner Table & Wheel versions.
There will be 20 questions on each section for a total of 100 questions. You must score at least 75 % on each section. The exam is multiple choice.
2. PADI Standards and Procedures Exam. Open Book Multiple Choice, True False, 50 questions.
3. One Academic Teaching Presentation,
4. One Confined Water Teaching Presentation
5. Two Open Water Teaching Presentations
6. Complete an 800 yard swim with mask, fins, snorkel only, no time limit.
7. Demonstrate three teaching skills from skill circuit.
8. One Rescue Scenario (Unconscious Diver on the Surface, Rescue Breathing, Equipment Removal.
THE PADI INSTRUCTOR EVALUATION FEE IS $460.00 AND MUST BE PAID UPON REGISTRATION AT THE IE BY CREDIT CARD OR CHECK. PLEASE DO NOT BRING CASH!
After the Instructor Evaluation, Capt. Slate’s hosts a graduation dive party and will take you diving in the beautiful Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. We will celebrate your success and have some fun doing what we love, diving!
