INSTRUCTOR ORIENTATION COURSE (IOC)

 $825 (9 days)

If you are a diving educator from another Instructor agency, you can take care of industry demands and earn your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating. The IOC program recognizes that you are already an experienced Scuba Instructor who only needs an orientation to the PADI System of Diver Education.

This condensed course focuses on first analyzing and understanding the PADI System, then adapting your instructional style to conduct the PADI programs. Capt. Slate’s conducts the program in 9 days. Capt. Slate’s allows you to attend the entire Instructor Development Course to gain the entire benefit of learning all you can.

After the IOC, you may decide to attend the PADI IE. The IE is PADI's opportunity to take a look at your teaching and water skills, and for you to evaluate PADI. Every PADI Instructor in the world has undergone the same identical, impartial evaluation.

After successful completion of the IE you will be certified to teach the PADI Open Water, Advanced, Rescue, Divemaster and Experience programs. You may also attend the PADI Specialty Instructor programs and expand your opportunities to teach a variety of new courses.

Prerequisites: Other Agency Instructor certification certified at least 6 months before application.

Minimum age: 18 years old.

Certification: Upon completion of the IOC, the candidate must submit the IOC application with a $95.00 application fee to PADI.

Upon successful completion of the IE you will earn your PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating.
